St. John's Silk Scarf
This scarf is inspired by Anglo-Saxon and Celtic book-painting techniques from the eighth century. The heavily screened design is reminiscent of similar English bibles in our collection. Made from 100% silk-twill, with hand-rolled edges. 35" square.
The Library of Congress has an extensive bible collection. The collection contains over 1,500 editions in more than 150 languages. Two major works, the Giant Bible of Mainz and the Gutenberg Bible are on permanent exhibition in the Great Hall of our Thomas Jefferson building.
