This book painstaking reconstructs Jefferson's library catalog. Jefferson's personal library of 6,478 volumes was sold to Congress in 1815. It formed the foundation of the Library's collection and ultimately replaced books burned by the British during their occupation of Washington, D.C. Edited by James Gilreath and Douglas L. Wilson.
